Blog- Maurice's Blog - Tresparrett Wharf at Reading

Recommended Posts

Here are some pictures of the yesterday's visit to the ALSRM (Association of Larger Scale Railway Modellers) Southern Show at Reading. 1/64th is considered by this group, that goes up to Gauge 3 (or is that 3" Gauge?), to be the smallest of the larger scales.... while other people consider it to be the largest of the smaller scales. It is nice living in the border territory!

By the way the box I use to carry my whole layout, takes two BR MK1 coaches in Gauge 1 and would possibly be too small to take a single coach from the largest scale on show at this event!

There seems to be a little difficulty relating to using my mobile phone and the LED lights. The wagons are rather fussy while the name board is a shape as a knife. I will have to set the layout up one day with some other lighting so I can get some definitively good pictures ... and use a more suitable camera. However, this will have to wait until I have got the scenic details completed and some more work done on those wagons below the sole bars. At least the background is somewhat less cluttered than many exhibition pictures, even if it does look as if it in some sort of boudoir... why do indoor bowling ranks have curtains along the sides?

NOTICE:- In future I will be posting most of my 1/64th Scale blogs at a new location https://modellingat164scale.wordpress.com

This will eventually include a full (if as yet incomplete) record of my 1/64 modelling, as well as covering future progress on a number of projects. I will still make some cross references between the two strands of material and will continue to blog on projects in other scale on this site.
