Die cast military miniatures

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just been rummaging around in the olds' garage and found a stack of casting molds by the company "prince august" (of Ireland) and some dioramas I made a couple of lifetimes ago.

Is there anyone who would be interested in the moulds? I have no use for them any more but I would hate to think of them being chucked out, they are perectly serviceable and if anyone is into this hobby, or even producing figures for sale, there is a wide variety of moulds there.

Some pics....post-28072-0-17772400-1464496542_thumb.jpeg

Unmodified figures, 75mm.

Mix of modified and unmodified figures, from 75mm at foreground to 15mm at background.

I added lances to the green lancers in place of dragoon sabres, modified the swords of some Hussars, and modified some of the background Chasseurs to more realistic casualty poses.

The 15mm figures are NOT my castings, they are Airfix plastic kits.

I just realised the Hussars are off screen in this photo...

Here is the foreground in full....

Most of the moulds are one inch/25mm scale.

I have a collection of Tolkienesque moulds (orcs, undead, elves, etcetera) and a collection of Napoleonic moulds. The human race figures from the Tolkienesque moulds work perfectly for early Middle Ages troops as well.

The Napoleonic moulds include - kilted highlanders, british line infantry, french line infantry, french guard infantry, french line dragoons, french guard dragoons, french guard lancers, french guard hussars, light and heavy field guns.

Bear in mind that a handy use of the Stanley knife can turn any of the above into something else, be that portuguese line infantry, british hussars, british heavy dragoons, and much more. All of which can be further enhanced with the right paints.

The other set of moulds I have are 75mm suited to the Seven Years war era.

I am not sure whats left of these, some or all may have gone, but I did have tricorn hatted infantry and officer (see pics) plus a handy mould set that had 4 different headgear options - mitred shako, bicorn, tricorn, busby - for infantry and another 5 options for cavalry - which made 7 different headgear altogether.

I also had the sabre swinging hussar mould and a standard bearer option for the interchangeable headgear.

So really, just about every combination you could want.

Just an update... An RM Webber has aquired the Napoleonic infantry moulds. There are still numerous Napoleonic cavalry moulds ( see pics, diorama of cavalry charge) up for grabs.

Also the Tolkienesque moulds... I don't have any dioramas nor photos of the figures, but if anyone is interested in them I can give you a link to the manufacturer's website (Prince August) and a list of the moulds which I have.

so.... There was some interest from a couple of people in the moulds. The following are still available (postage cost) if anybody fancies a go at casting lead model figures...

The triple moulds weigh each from 160 to 200 grams. Single moulds weigh about 120 grams. A 2kg parcel would cost 4 pounds signed for, second class.

If you want to have a look at http://shop.princeaugust.ie/battle-of-waterloo-wargaming-moulds/?sort=alphaasc&page=4

And

http://shop.princeaugust.ie/fantasy-gaming/?sort=alphaasc

I have the folllowing Napoleonic moulds....

Triple figure moulds

French Empress Dragoons (make perfect curaissers)

French Guard Lancers (Polish Lancers),

Single figure moulds

French curaisser,

French Guard Chasseur,

Trooper, Lancers of the Guard

Horse moulds

Empress dragoon trooper,

Polish lancer officer,

Napoleonic wars horse mould #1

I have also these fantasy/mediaeval moulds,

Triple figure moulds

3x orcs

3x goblins

3x fighters

3x skeletons

3x dwarves (dwarf axemen)

3x orc berserkers

3x barbarians

3x skeleton knights

3x battle orcs

3x elven knights

3x skeleton warriors

3x cavemen

Also, a triple mould which includes an archer plus the pair "men of the city".

A triple mould "armoured dwarves".

These last two appear to have vanished even from their back catalogue.

Single and double moulds (cavalry)

Skeleton mounted w. Horse

Warrior rider w. Horse

Pair of mounted warrior knights and weapon selection

Mounted rider and horse classic mould

The two archer figures from 3x elves

Most of the skeleton figures lend themselves, with a touch of filler around the face, to 2nd rank mediaeval duty.

The horses are pretty interchangeable, if I remember rightly the skeleton rider is the only figure that wont go with the armoured horse.

Also, there is a 45mm "french imperial guard chasseur" with horse.

The cavalryman is the one in the picture with the kilted Highland infantry, although that is not the horse from the mould, that is a different horse for which I have not got a mould.
