RMweb Premium OnTheBranchline Posted June 6, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 6, 2016 Hello everyone, I have a question about the following prototypical nature of the livery of this County: http://www.ehattons.com/69516/Hornby_R3277_Class_38xx_4_4_0_County_Of_Devon_in_Great_Western_Railway_green_Railroad_range/StockDetail.aspx I understand that after 1922, the full Great Western livery would have been applied to mostly all express engine classes. So I assume that the no garter crest on this Hornby model was an error? Thank you in advance.
Coppercap
It's the 'cheapie' Railroad version of the County with incomplete lining to keep costs down. Check out the tender lining - there's no black line, yet the boiler bands on the loco have them. If you want a much higher standard of lining on your County, seek out the 1912 Olympics train pack. The County in these even has tender frame lining (but then they went and gave the loco a name in the straight-framed series!).
