RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted July 7, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 7, 2016 At the going down of the sun tonight will be the final act in the closing of the 19240 shrouded figures commemoration in Exeter at 2100hrs. Just think of that many casualties on just the first day. A moving scene. http://www.thesomme19240.co.uk/news/
pointstaken
I saw 4 biplanes fly over this afternoon, from the Farnborough Air show, in memory of the fallen. Lest we forget. Dennis
Rivercider
I visited Northernhay Gardens in Exeter on the 5th, and spent nearly an hour walking around, although there were large numbers of people there I found the mood to be quiet and reflective. I hope to visit Exeter again next week as the film 'The Battle of the Somme' is showing in the RAMM (Museum) with an orchestral soundtrack, until 15th July cheers
