HST to Weymouth

Here is a clip of a ride on the SO GW HST to Weymouth

 

 

Check out Yeovil Pen Mill where, to my surprise at least, it appears Pen Mill has now joined the SW network.

 

Checking the timetables, a SO working, I had not been aware of, from Waterloo to Weymouth via Yeovil.

 

Also two SW trains per day now start from Pen Mill running through to Waterloo.

 

Maybe, I'm way behind the times on this but the significance is that the connecting curve from Pen Mill to Junction has now joined the passenger network whereas before it had no regular workings, freight or passenger, though of course often used for engineering diversions.

Pen Mill has been an SWT destination since December last year. There's 4 or so via Sherborne, and at least one via Frome each day M-F, and Weymouth via Sherborne is the weekend special.

During Glastonbury festival the pen mill trains (or some of them) continued to castle Cary.
