tiger
Hi all, Just a quick question about running-in. My two Farish weedkiller class 20 twins are currently plodding slowly around the layout without a load, as per the instructions. However, I have coupled them nose to nose to do this. Is it a bad idea to pair locos in tandem like this when running-in? I have several other items which need running-in and it would save time to pair similar locos together like this (e.g. pairs of Dapol 26's and 27s, pairs of Farish 47s). The 20s seemed well-matched in terms of performance when I gave them a quick test-run separately before coupling them together, and there don't seem to be any problems so far (45 minutes and counting). Just wondering what your opinions are. Is this a good idea, bad idea, or such a bad idea that it might invalidate a warranty....? Thanks, Tom. RMweb Premium Kris Posted July 25, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 25, 2016 Never considered running in in pairs, but having thought about it I would personally not do it as I like to see how the individual logos are performing. In terms of the warranty I see no issues particularly as there is no mention of not doing it and there would be no way of them knowing.
