Retfordlad
Painted a project Schools in wartime Humbrol acrylic Matt black .. easy spray can form lovely finish .. however I think it looks too flat .. anyone any thoughts on if I should clear coat .. would a satin be too much .. or rely on a weathering wash of assorted colours ...? RMweb Gold Graham_Muz Posted July 26, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 26, 2016 Hi I use Halfords satin black as the main body colour and then use matt black for only the smokebox and cab roof. Then I weather, see below.
Retfordlad
Ooh I hadn't thought of that. Looks fantastic ... Good plan .. Ive had custom plates made .. the only other fun bit is the decals as HMRS only do Methfix now for the wartime decals ... Ordered some Humbrol satin acrylic hopefully will be here within a week .. RMweb Gold Graham_Muz Posted July 27, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 27, 2016 I use HMRS Pressfix decals (Sheet 10) as I have always had some in my stock but may have to switch to Methfix soon
