RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted March 12, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2010 Some things happen with Vista a bit less obviously than XP so how about, Has your contact list got much longer recently. Did it get slower after a Windows update? Check to see if there is an update to the email checking part of your security software? Can't think of anything else at present! torkardlane
Thanks Tony, Ill look at an update. Normally my antivirus(kasp) updates itself same as windows got to be something there. Funny thing is, that i can read my emails in btyahoo mail ok. Just when i open windows mail to download and save some of the important stuff that it slows. Thanks again Tom
RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted March 12, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2010 Our Vista pcs have Norton as the antivirus and email security and are running normally at present. Our email is also BTYahoo hosted and doesn't seem to be having any problems at the moment. On my XP PC (I get the old ones!)I have Outlook Express as my main mail program and Thunderbird for a subsidiary mail account. I really use the initial BTYahoo mail just to trap spam with Spamguard though I do have to remember to check it if I buy something from a new model rail online store. They all seem to end up in the spam folder first time. Hope it either resolves itself or someone really can suggest a better answer. Best wishes Tony
