JeffP
Yes, but not never. I've seen a few under repair in the area outside the shed building at Frodingham and March.
Rivercider
After the end of steam in the West of England in the 1960s for a few years Exmouth Junction was used to service diesels and DMUs while two roads were given over to repairing wagons. In the early 1980s when the diesel allocation diminshed Ebbw Junction depot also undertook repair of wagons mostly ballast hoppers which were loaded locally out of Machen Quarry. Barton Hill depot in Bristol, which was originally a steam shed, was for many years a wagon repair depot. After sectorisation it became a RES depot servicing locos (47s and later 67s) while also maintaining parcel vans. In the 2000s and 2010s Barton Hill has also serviced steam locos from charter work, and seen a return of some wagon repairs, cheers

'CHARD
My mates have described occasions when they have had to pay a visit to a diesel depot to attend to minor running repairs on wagons including MGR hoppers and civil engineers' vehicles.
