Lancs_fus
Hello all, Been trawling all evening and can't seem to find a source of signal heads in three aspect colour light for OO or 4mm unless you pay £8 for Eckon pre wired with LEDs. Does anyone know of any? Etched brass or Lasted I am not too worried and they are for some gantries and brackets in my fiddle yard so fidelity is not that important. Cheers,
RMweb Premium njee20 Posted October 28, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 28, 2016 CR Signals do them, certainly do pre-built heads only, and they do kits, but the kits may all include post etc.
Horsetan
TrainTronics heads may be available separately - 2/3/4 aspect, with or without feather.

Cheers, C&L sell Train Tronics see http://www.finescale.org.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=870. For some reason I can't post a link directly at the moment
LNERGE
http://www.finescale.org.uk/image/cache/data/Train%20Tech/TTSK1-500x500.jpg I use these. I'm quite happy with them. Just buy a bit of brass tube, a bit of brass plate and some ladder and your away..

Lancs_fus
Thanks all. I need 6 heads only for gantrys not free standing just to be clear and I can do the LEDs myself anyway rather than paying for that. Looks like Train Tech as opposed to Train Tronics are sold by C&L but it is a fiver for the whole sprue and I only want the head and while there are different heads on there I only need three aspect which seems somewhat wasteful but currently the leader in cost effective solutions. As for the post by LNERGE that's lovely work but did you get the head from somewhere as I only need the heads, preferably without the LEDs as I can do all that myself. Horsetan indicates traintronics heads maybe available separately which they are pre wired with LEDs at £15 per head for a three aspect. I wonder if there are any etches out there you can solder up. I look at MSE but didn't see any.

MSE do the hoods in brass, I did get some but in the end, I didnt' use them.
RMweb Premium Bill37 Posted October 30, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 30, 2016 How about using these, they do two aspect also. http://www.kyteslights.com/product_info.php?cPath=37&products_id=243 Bill.

Very useful but they are the wrong pattern for the project I was working on 12 months ago. Train Tech were exactly what I wanted
Suzie
3-aspect Searchlight heads are available from Signalist for £2 (or at least that was the show price on Saturday - no prices on the website) if you want to fit your own LEDs. http://signalist.co.uk/Products.html

These look to be exactly what I am after and at a sensible price. Good for a gantry which is great. Thanks very much for that Bill.
LNERGE
I've used loads of the four aspect heads from Train Tech. These were mostly made up as per kit but with LEDs. This leaves lots of two and three aspect heads spare... until i get round to signalling the slow roads...
Lancs_fus
Thanks for all the input. I have just ordered the 10 three aspect heads from Kytes Lights. Works out at about AU$2 each which is very reasonable and I already have all the LEDs and resistors so should be good as gold!
LNERGE
I had to make another three aspect signal today though this one is a bit bigger... https://www.flickr.com/photos/pwayowen/30621317042/
Lancs_fus
Can you knock me up one of those and send it out to Perth WA please mate!
LNERGE
I'll send an order form. Remember to tick the scale required and supply only. Design, supply and install come as standard otherwise. (anyone care to guess at the cost of those three on our national network?)
