Hi Scott,

I think you will find that the 'definitive' DMU drawing book is "A Pictorial Record of British Railways Diesel Multiple Units" by Brian Golding and published by Cheona Publications ISBN 1-900298-00-7. Unfortunately, now out of print but an 'updated' version is threatened at some time. Second hand copies do become available from time to time, but at a price.

hope that this helps

Mike

Hi

There is also one for the Southern Region EMUs published December (I think it was) last year by the same author.

I got my copy of the DMU book from eBay a few years ago and managed to secure it for the original cover price as it had been misdescribed.

Cheers

Paul

Just a word of warning with this book. As an overview of all the different classes and a starting point it is fine but I know for a fact that some of the roof vent positions on the Class 120 diagram are incorrect as is the complete brake section side window layout for the Class 107 (it has the same layout as a Class 108 when it should be similar to a Class 104). So if it is reprinted buy it by all means but remember to check it against actual photographs.

as long as it has 1st generstion vehicles that were used in the eastern region i'll be a happy chappy.

i'm new to DMU's, to me this is the 'darkside' are there companies that sell underframe details, bogie frame side details?

i'm getting into a bit of a scratch build fest at the mo'

the vehicles i want to build will be running on my Southminster layout (circa 1950-1959).
