Etched Windows

Hi Folks,

 

For my latest project I will need/like to run off some etched brass windows for most of my buildings, I have scale plans of the buildings and windows etc and was wondering how I go about running off these etches, and any companies around that will do this for me.

 

If so what would I need to supply the company with, a scale drawing of the selected windows or any other information?

I'm sure you will soon get some responses about etching - but what about laser cut in plastic from York Model Makers. I saw some of their work and it looked good - was it at Warley NEC??

 

Have a look here for an idea of sizes and prices for 'off the shelf' but their web site does say that they will also cut to your specification - there is a helpful FAQ

I'd recommend contacting those who already make them. I typed in 'model etched windows' to a well known search engine and got the first two entries as being such suppliers. They seem to have so many different types, I'd be surprised if you really need to have them specially etched to your own design.

They would charge you for the drawing work but I think a fully scaled drawing could be used.

 

Etching would work out cheaper than laser cut windows especially with a very simple design.
