Icra
Dear all, I don't know if I'm posting in the right area but I would like to know if there is any way to see the content of The Locomotive Magazine No. 80 from August 1902. I'm very interested to see this article "The locomotive history of the London, Chatham & Dover Ry. 126-7." Thank you.
Nearholmer
If all else fails, try the library of the IMechE; I'm pretty certain they have it. Kevin
RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted June 5, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 5, 2017 Have you looked at "Grace's Guide" - they don't have the Locomotive Magazine but does have The Engineer Magazine archive where you may find the information you need. http://www.gracesguide.co.uk/London,_Chatham_and_Dover_Railway .
Poor Old Bruce
I'm told the HMRS Study Centre at Swanwick holds a set. They were very helpful when I was looking for something in an old Model Railway News. If you go along to Midland Railex in August and talk to them nicely, you may get just what you want.
RMweb Premium Dave Searle Posted June 6, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 6, 2017 Hi, I just happen to have scans of those pages on my computer They are actually part of a series of articles. I have a few more scanned, but not the whole series. P.126 P.127 Cheers, Dave
EddieB
Depending on where you live, you might be able to access the library of a railway society that contains sets of bound volumes of Locomtive Magazine - certainly the Stephenson Locomotive Society has copies, as (I'm pretty confident) does the RCTS. Sadly scanned copies of the magazine have never been made available in electronic form (to my knowledge). Its lineage survives to the present in the form of "Modern Railways".
Icra
This forum definitely has the best support, thank you all for suggestions. Thank you Dave for the scanned article.
dibber25
Ian Allan took over the Locomotive Railway Carriage & Wagon Review. We had a full set of bound volumes in the library when I worked there. I guess they'll be with the new owners now. (CJL)
