While looking for something entirely unconnected, I stumbled upong this site called The Bashing Years.

Don't be put of by the seemingly initial lack of records. The decade drop down menus have year options, and the individual year options have monthly drop down menus which appear on the left of each page. 

 

Loco workings to Skegness are of particular interest to me, and the various pages are full of them.

Not a bad resource. I've put my ten penneth in on several occasions from my notes. It's useful as a cross reference and, of course, for the nostalgia.

The Bashing Years took the information originally published from the 1980s Timewarp website which stopped being updated some years ago.  1980s Timewarp has now risen from the ashes and is once again being updated, but working as a true database with search options.  You can find it here http://railgenarchive.co.uk/index.php 

 

For those on Facebook there is a group entitled the Bashing Years which generates quite a bit of discussion on loco haulage from the past.
