RSS Fetcher
It would seem as something of a belated 'sorry we didn't do anything for your birthday' and 'Here's a little early treat for Christmas' I am getting the Rail Express loadhaul double pack. This puts somewhat of a scupper on my plans of a blue mainline 37798 but I think I'd rather do a mainline blue spray than a loadhaul. It's made me think real hard about the locos Lime Kiln needs so this will be a bumper writing blog. I'll start in ascending numerical order. Class 20: 20302 and 20303 in DRS with the refurbished ends. http://tony-buckton.fotopic.net/p61029253.html There is more of a long term plan for the pair as they require some extensive work. The locos were visitors to Hull in my time period with the low-level radioactive nuclear waste and would make a nice change of company from the ews owned stock. Class 37: 37047 Mainline blue http://tony-buckton.fotopic.net/p62426944.html I'm gonna follow the article one of the regulars of model rail did on how to change the vi trains release into 37047 with its rebuilt ends and too close headcode lights. The loco was also a regular in the Hull area and I intend to model it some time soon hopefully. It will also need its tanks filing down to turn it into the twin tank loco it was. 37055 Mainlne Blue http://bobfostersrailgallery.fotopic.net/p58202161.html The Mainline blue split headcode 37 was everywhere in the by the 2000 period so even though I have no proof of it being in Hull with a little modellers license I can have it there. The loco will probably be resprayed into mainline blue from bachmanns 37035 sometime during the summer although I have some worries over the size of the transfers as mentioned by James Hilton a while back. as you can see the blue was quite mismatched and patchy with some odd panels as well. I would also need to file down the tanks on the loco as I have done with 37057 and try and recreate the missing plates. 37057 'Viking' EW&S http://ukrailwaypics.fotopic.net/p1107863.html The original model was Bachmann's DCC 37114 (which I may do at some point) Viking is a personal favourite of mine and is almost at the stage of completion with renumbering under way and nameplates needing fitting. The loco has had all bufferbeam pipes added with a MU cable filed down to make it more representative of the prototype and USB wire used instead. It has had its tanks filed down to represent the twin tank modification fitted to the loco with handbrake brackets fitted and is now waiting on plates and round buffers for the one end. The loco was quite local to the area with it being based reasonably near at Thornaby I think. 37419 EWS http://ukrailwaypics.fotopic.net/p21497277.html Another misnomer as not too sure about it's location but the model so far has had it's bufferbeam detailing added with the socket for the eth cable scratch built and made out of usb wire. It's had handbrake brackets fitted as per 37057 and now needs chains and speedo gear with the remainder of the other ends bufferbeam detail. 37713 Loadhaul http://bobfostersrailgallery.fotopic.net/p58217336.html The loco was a favourite on the acetic tanks down from Hull to Baglan Bay and would fit right into my period with some light weathering. there is something about loadhaul livery which is slightly legendary and the loco would look lovely in front of the tanks. It and 'Gartcosh' will be very welcome in autumn. 37884 'Gartcosh' Loadhaul http://tony-buckton.fotopic.net/p63925156.html As above this heavyweight was a regular in the area especially on the acetic tanks it would seem with a couple of pictures found of it on the working. I'll see whats needed when it arrives in autumn. Class 56: I intend to model only a couple of 56's as they weren't too common but I'd like to have a couple of liveries. the locos will be more of a later in the year plan. 56109 unbranded Loadhaul http://tony-buckton.fotopic.net/p61034297.html This will probably be the first of the 56's and I'll de-brand the Hornby offering and detail it up. The real loco was worked ont he enterprise service a couple of times and I like unbranded loadhaul so it will make a welcome addition to go with the Rex pack. 56007 Transrail http://tony-buckton.fotopic.net/p61029255.html This will probably be repainted from the Hornby petroleum (I think) offering and will feature maybe next year. The real loco had taken on a rather tasteful faded colour to it and will look nice in front of some bdas and steel carriers. Class 60 60007 Loadhaul. http://bobfostersrailgallery.fotopic.net/p56415740.html The loco is currently on the workbench with its horn being painted white and bufferbeam pipework added before a quick weathering as the loco was quite clean still. The loco is a favourite so I'm not sure it was around the are but I will use some modellers license. 60081 http://tony-buckton.fotopic.net/p61029255.html This is a cracking livery on the class 60 and the loco worked the tarmac runs in Hull so it wouldn't be out of place at all. It's again something for next year when I have the money. I hope this gives you some idea as to my tastes and future projects this year as I only really did it to clear my mind and get what I want down on, in this case, virtual paper. Any help on locations or problems that may arise with certain loco please tell me, Lukasz View the full article
