I have been told that there is a certain cv that can be changed to make sounds loco have sounds on DC layouts (very basic sounds). Is this true, if so which CV is it. Thank You

Change the following cvs.

13 to 1

29 to 6

That should do it.

Although whilst your changing cv's alter cv 124 to 6 as that causes the chip to remember what it was doing,i-e it stops diesels from going through restart if they hit a slight power loss.

Is it worth changing this on a DCC layout as well then?

thanks

Yes, definately. It also helps wheel cleaning if you use wire brush and scraper as you won't have to wait for the motor to accelerate back up to full speed when you move on to the next set of wheels to clean.

Yes i reccommend it as it makes it easier to use the locos.

even works on the locsound micro as fitted to my class 08.
