HenryP123
Hi, When I first saw the Cakebox challenge in my issue of BRM, I was very interested in it. I want to prove that, as I have seen it said on other social media sites, that modelling is NOT just for older people. I would like to prove that wrong by introducing my cake box challenge... The Quarry. It utilises peco n gauge track, with the basic surface level built up and filler put around the rails and sleepers to hide their small size. The whole thing was then sprayed grey. The scenery was built up using layers of cork painted black, then the entire model was covered in a layer of real broken up slate. World War Scenics grass tufts where then added sparingly. The build was done over the course of a week. The model Dolgoch is a kit built item, and the wagons are peco. Dickon
Henry Your model quarry sounds great. Any chance of any pictures? I've just found your other thread. Your quarry is absolutely brilliant. All it now needs is lots of rust and grime on the hopper cars Well done, I love it!
