RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted April 3, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 3, 2010 Unless the royals were incognito, er no, it wasn't that, and the photo was taken this morning, sorry, meant to add that fact... We were not waiting for this, which came through first...
RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted April 3, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 3, 2010 One further clue, there used to be a signalbox, roughly where the new radio mast is on the left hand side of the photo...

RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted April 3, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 3, 2010 A wild stab in the dark.... Tigley? Nidge What a pleasure doing business with a gentleman who knows his OWW from his Tigley! Was it by any chance this pair of kettles on the royal duchy you were waiting for? but you've got me on the location It was indeed, and the pair were doing very well indeed as they got into their stride on the gradient up from Totnes:

RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted April 3, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 3, 2010 Dam, and I was in Totnes today at Steamer Quay and out at the Cider Press spending money. That's a pity, my friend and I went to the SDR after watching the main line charter at Tigley and had a bit of lunch and a browse through the plasticard in the model shop, would have been nice to have met up! As it was, some bloke called Holmes was lurking at Buckfastleigh station with some hangers on, took a while to get a few clear shots of the prairie... two tone green
Amazing, nearly went to the SDR but having subjected the other half to a trip on the other steam railway in the area yesterday, it would have been pushing things to do two in two days. So a trip to the Cider Press and other retail outlets kept her happy. Up side of it is we are going to the DPS bash at Barrow Hill at the begining of May so not pushing my luck worked. RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted April 4, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 4, 2010 So a trip to the Cider Press and other retail outlets kept her happy Did you groove on down with the cool veggy menu in the Cider Press centre restaurant? Nice food there, in fact!
two tone green
Sorry no. Was grooving to the jazz band there which was very good. Soaps and smelly things along with amusing books were all that our money bought. Lunch had been taken at Goodringtom Sands consisting of oak, hot smoked salmon, crusty bread and salad with an excellent balsamic dressing all carefully prepared on board our German house on wheels. Of course all washed down with a dose of steam from the passing train.

Rugd1022
Lovely stuff CK, terrific photos My first guess was actually Trerulelefoot (I know, wrong county!) but as soon as you mentioned the old box being there I twigged it was Tigley. Anyway... damn, that 55xx looks good in BR black!!! As I type this I'm looking at a shot of 5526 crossing the river near St. Blazey Middleway Crossing in July 1955..... in exactly the same livery.....proper job.
