nharding99
Hello everyone, I'm looking for information as to where I need to solder the 2 wires that will connect to a speaker. Have tried finding this in the Zimo mx-kleine-decoder manual that I found online. Maybe I'm missing something. As I look at the decoder there's the side with the pin, this has 5 solder pads. On the other side there are 2 solder pads (my hunch is that these might be the ones), Can anyone help? Thanks Nigel H
Nigelcliffe
MX658N18 has a Next18S connector, that includes the speaker as two of the connection wires. The idea is that the speaker is connected to the loco's circuit board. My English language Zimo manual shows which pins on the connector are used for speaker. Note that the Next18S socket is wired very slightly differently to the identically size Next18 connector - the difference is in whether a speaker or further functions are connected to certain pins (don't you just love standards committees ability to mess stuff up and have two different things with near enough the same name !). Find details of the Next connectors on the MOROP website (in German). - Nigel
nharding99
OK thanks, I get it now. The 2 speaker wire are soldered to the locomotive PCB (it's a Farish Castle which has been setup for this). Thanks
