ClikC
I've been looking for suitable split box 40 to model, as i have one on my workbench ATM (Along with 40 042). I'm looking for a Blue, split box, dual braked, TOPS numbered machine as a suitable prototype, with my time period of choice being May 1974. My original choice was to do another Kingmoor machine to go along side 042. This gives me; 331 / 40 131 I'm not positive when this made it's way to KM, but it's listed as such in 1975 (March 75 RO IIRC). Was listed as green November 73 when it was re-numbered and DB fitted. 335 / 40 135 Still green in April 74, with a photo proving such on p62 of Diesels in Depth - Class 40. 336 / 40 136 Defiantly green through my period, one of the late survivors (Shall be my next spilt box effort I hope). 337 / 40 137 Departed for Wigan Springs Branch (SP) in August 74. 338 / 40 138 Departed for Wigan Springs Branch (SP) in June 74. 339 / 40 139 340 / 40 140 Dual brake fitted in May 74. Realistically this leaves me 131, 137 or 139. The original plan was to do 131, but I'd like to find out it's re-paint date. If anyone can help out filling in any holes left due to my limited number of Railway Observer issues, or adding extra details I'd be most appreciative. Flood
I've got all the Railway Observers from 1969 to 1979 so when I get home I'll check. Probably won't get anything posted until tomorrow morning so if anyone else can help in the meantime please go ahead.

ClikC
Thanks flood, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Looks like i'll stick with 40 131 as my chosen prototype. Feel free to claim beer (or substitute there of) off of me. Regards Matt
