Pillar
A question for users of the Roco WLANmaus. Is it possible to change the direction of the head/tail lights on a loco while it is stationary? Since it uses a locking centre zero point rather than a direction toggle button, presumably you have to move the knob one way or the other to select direction. Does this immediately start the loco moving or is there a dead-zone to allow it to sit stationary with the lights illuminated in the chosen direction? Thanks, Liam EDIT - Also, is it possible to use the Z21 app on a Windows laptop to run trains, or does it have to be Android or iOS? Butler Henderson
Depends how responsive the loco is - tweak the speed curve if necessary so that it does not set off immediately the control knob is moved from its centre position and you can then just move the knob slightly to change the lights without the loco moving. jpendle
The App does not work on Windows. John P
WIMorrison
@Pillar You can download Nox onto your windows PC and run the Z21 app happily within the android virtualisation. You simply email the Z21 file between your android mail app and the Z21 app on phone or tablet. https://noxofficial.com/nox-for-pc/
CFL
Bit late here, but Roco/Fleischmann have just put out an update for the WLANmaus whereby you can change the lights while the loco / train is stationary ready for setting off. As before the app needs to run via a 'virtual android' programme on your PC.

Had a bit of a fright when first attempt gave the error message "memory fault" then second attempt got "No resources" Took the batteries out of the Maus and started over again and it sailed through, did the wireless module update at the same time. The head tail light mod is a good extra feature Edited April 9, 2021 by melmerby
