Zimo MX622N read/write problems

I have several of these decoders all normally work fine.

I recently used an MXULFA to upgrade the firmware on one of these, reading back the major and minor version it reports 39.0 as I expect.

As usual I performed a factory reset CV8=8 on the the decoder after the firmware upgrade using ZCS via the MXULFA. Using ZCS I can then program the decoder and drive it as usual.

However if I swap to the programming track out put of my DR5000 I can neither read nor write CVs on the decoder. The decoder is installed on an ECoS decoder tester so it's not a locomotive or track issue. I've tried the following, all have failed while the MXULFS/ZCS combination continues to work:

Adjusted the voltage to the DR5000 - range from 15V-18V all fail.

Swapped the wires connecting the ECoS, between the MXULFA (both pairs work) and the DR5000 (both pairs fail).

Tried DR5000 app programming track UI, and DecoderPro.

In all cases on the DR5000 all reads time out, and all writes receive a NoAck.

Using a different decoder the DR5000 and MXULFA both work fine.

Anyone any ideas on what else I can try?

Cheers

Dave

FYI for Zimo chips a 'true' factory reset is CV8 set to 0, not 8. I don't know if that will help though.

Thanks John, I've tried that and no joy.

I'm coming to the conclusion that I have intermittent failure of the programming track output on the DR5000. While the MXULF continues to be able to read/write on all my decoders, some decoders which I programmed in the last two weeks using the DR5000 can not now be read/written 100% of the time using the DR5000.

Cheers

Dave

P.S. I've reloaded firmware on the DR5000, removed and reinstalled the PC software and factory reset everything in sight!
