Hornby Class 08 crankpin bolt size?

Recommended Posts

I have some Hornby Class 08* wheels I am trying to use for a project (with mixed success).

They came without any crankpin bolts but have threaded holes for the pins.

Can anyone tell me what size of bolt I need to buy to fit? Ideally a shouldered bolt that takes the standard size head. The threaded hole itself seems to be smaller than the normal Hornby wheels.

Many thanks for any and all help

*Should point out this is the more modern one with outside frames. The wheelsets were the round bearing type.
