Tony Davis
I have just moved a layout from a fairly dark, north facing room into a room that gets a lot more light and I've noticed that the static grass on the layout looks shiny. I'm wondering if it's just a trick of the light or because it is shiny and I just haven't been able to see it before? I was thinking of matting it and I thought a wash of some sort - the usual black/brown mix - would answer. Tony
sulzer27jd
If you can get hold of some fine soil or ground earth and blow that over, you want the texture of dust, it takes the shine off. I always do that when I am using static grass. John

sulzer27jd
I just let it settle Tony. Having said that as I go over with additional layers or details I suppose it gets a coating of hairspray eventually.
Tony Davis
Thanks John, I'll have a go with some local soil, it's a fine silt around here and I've got some ready dried. regards, Tony
