Jammy2305
Hello! I was wondering if anyone has (or can point me in the direction of) any information regarding the rolling stock used by the Lynn and Fakenham railway? Namely diagrams and liveries. Information regarding locomotives and loco liveries is available but I have never seen any reference to coaches and/or wagons. Any help would be most appreciated! Kind regards James
RMweb Premium Compound2632 Posted May 18, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 18, 2020 (edited) I suspect that the closest you will get easily is the information on Eastern & Midlands passenger and goods stock in N.J.L. Digby, A Guide to the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway (Ian Allan, 1993). I'm afraid even this work is silent on the subject of Lynn & Fakenham liveries or stock. Given that the company amalgamated with others to form the Eastern & Midlands in 1881, this is hardly surprising. Diagram books are very much an Edwardian invention, even on the major lines. The M&GN Circle publishes a list of drawings it holds. The only explicitly L&F item I can find there is a Birmingham Wagon Co. drawing for a covered goods wagon of 1878. They also have a catalogue of their photo library, available to members only. If you're really getting into this, it sounds like joining the Circle would be the best way forward.
