Seawheel Steel Coil Containers

Recommended Posts

I came across these pictures on Flickr of these containers flats used to carry steel coils for Seawheel which travelled from Griffin Wharf in Ipswich. I was not aware of them until today, so I thought that I'd share them as they might make for an interesting variation on your usual container boxes, tankers etc.

No prizes for guessing the contents of the containers as the Griffin Wharf trip waits at the north end of Ipswich Station for permission to enter the Upper Yard. 08460 providing traction on 24 August1988. 08460 shunting container wagons at Ipswich Griffin Wharf on 2 August1988.
