Late China Farish - how do I remove the factory cab numbers

Ive a 2015/6 Farish Jubilee Locomotive to renumber. Ive tried Tcut and cocktail stick both immediate and leaving the Tcut for 20 minutes, it has no effect, the factory printed 'gold' numerals are rock hard, ive scraped one cab side off and it too is difficult. does anybody have a softening solution? ive other late locos to do so dont want to carry on scratching them off.

 

these late model Locos are radically different printing to earlier Poole production where Tcut does work.

 

There must be an easier way
