mods, if you arent happy with the somewhat morbid subject im happy with the post being deleted

something i would like to share, if your not interested thats fine and sorry for the wall of text but i feel its the minimum to understand whats going on

It all starts with a retired police officer in the US called David Paulides who started looking into the unsolved missing people cases in the US national parks and found that the park authorities were not keeping lists of all the missing people in the jurisdictions. during his years of research, some offices would deny him copy of case files even though they were decades old and not classed as criminal so there shouldnt be any reason to deny it. Often the FBI turn up to ongoing searches even though its outside of their jurisdiction. cases are also turning up in nature reserves around the world.

The cases that David covers are quite specific that there isnt any known or logical cause of death of disappearance. such if somebody went missing and they were never found but it is obvious they were taken my somebody else unknown like foot prints or tire tracks then it doesnt count. most of the cases have common themes which David calls case points:

--point of separation. when one person goes out of sight from a group, even just the other side of a tree or big rock and never returns

--weather change. it was a clear day when the person went out and just as the search for them begins, the weather turns nasty such as a storm and the search has to be delayed

-- dogs cant track. search dogs are brought in to follow their scent but for some reason either the trail stop suddenly for no apparent reason or the dog refuses to follow it or go into a particular area on the trail

-- found at an unexpected distance from last known location. an example being a young boy that went missing from a camp site then found dead over 10 miles away over mountain ranges and river. an expert tracker walked this direction and found it very difficult even for him. about half way along he found a scrap of clothing on a barbed wire fence which matched what the boy was wearing that day

-- body found close to last known position but found in an area that was already searched several times and they would have easily been seen.

-- folded clothes. even when the body/person isnt found. their clothes are often found in an open area or on rock neatly folded even in the cases of young children

-- bodies often found naked

-- character spectrum. it is unlikely for the victims to be "average" people. instead being the far ends of the spectrum. those with mental or physical disabilities, or those who are professional, academic or experienced people. scientists, university professors, expert hikers or hunters that have known the area for decades

-- quiet wildlife. there have been many mentions from people that on the day of the disappearance, the area fell unusually quiet like every animal in the area went away

-- national park. most of these cases happen in national parks or nature reserves

-- found next to water. the bodies are often found next a river or lake

-- clusters. there is a now well known  map online which David made of all the missing people he has research, many fall into clusters of people who have disappeared inn the same small area with an usual barren band in the middle

a recent case which fits many of these criteria is Nora Quoirin in Malaysia. i remember watching the news and ticking the boxes in my head as the reporter talked about it

- found close to last know place which was her hotel room

- charatcer spectrum, had a disability

- found in an already searched place

- happened in a nature reserve

- found next to a stream

David has his own website and youtube called Canaan missing project. he has some books out about the cases, which another youtuber is doing videos about called MrBallen.

one David;s films is now free to watch on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khwPVkoW8IE&t=101s&ab_channel=YouTubeMovies

there are many calling it baloney and conspiracy theory but David makes sure to never give his own opinion or reasons for their disappearances, it is all left open, he just gives the story and the facts about what happened
