 A screen shot from an e-mail from The National Archives received today. 

 

 

You cannot really blame them as I googled "Midland railway train" and only one relevant image appeared on the first page.

Loco should be Midland Red.
Coaches look like they've been robbed from the Great Western Railway.
Is that a BR 'lion and wheel' crest on the tender?
 

Let's not mention the telephone wires.

To me, that looks very LNWR. Even the crest has the look of the one they used. The cab of the loco is nearly LNWR except with the cab cut out on the front rather than the side and the loco could be based on a a Webb Compound, with that box on the footplate in front of the leading splasher.

 

I don't see much Midland there though!
