Pierre Le Brun
My Locos, Dapol Western, Dapol Railcar, Hornby Railcar all seem to have a pedestrian top end speed. My Bachmann Warship is better but not much. All my locos have loksound 5 fitted. I'm using a Gaugemaster Prodigy Express 2 Controller and testing on a Kato track. I've set CV5 at it's max of 255. Is there anything else I can do to improve the top speed? Do I need to alter the Tv value?
GoingUnderground
Have you used the "autotune" function to set the Back EMF CVs, section 11.1.4 "Automatic Calibration of the Motor" in the LokSound manual?

No I haven't, will take a look at the manual.

I've sorted the class 43 by changing CV2-2, CV5-255, CV53 - 140, CV54-10, CV55-10. Dapol 52 better at CV5-255.

I run my locos on an oval of Kato track rather than a model layout. On the oval track locos possibly look slower running than at the same speed on a layout, if that makes sense.
