Popular Post eastwestdivide
Skills you get worse at the more you practice, no.1 in a series: lockdown hairdressing. Just had a go at my other half's hair for the fourth time. Definitely no improvement over the first time. Her response: "at least people will know I haven't been breaking the rules". 6 1

KeithMacdonald
Drinking beer. First three pints: no problem drinking and no spillage. Second three pints: have noticed the pint glasses have spontaneously started getting wobbly and some beer gets spilled. Third three pints: have noticed the furniture is now starting to move as well. Really interfering with the drinking. More beer on floor. Complain to landlord. Fourth three pints: Strange gastric contractions. Must be caused by the prawn sandwich. Lots more beer on floor. Dunno where the carrots came from. Landlord complaining, beer drinking practice halted. 2

RMweb Gold ikcdab Posted February 17, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 17, 2021 I think that when you do something a lot, then you can become complacent and skill levels may drop. In the past, I have been happy to accept things I have done that were less than perfect. On my current layout i decided that if it wasn't right, then I would redo the job. I have stuck to this and it has paid dividends. I'm much more in the "get it right first time now".

RMweb Premium Kylestrome Posted February 17, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 17, 2021 (edited) In no particular order; wallpapering, applying bath sealant, cleaning windows so that they don't look smeary when the sun comes out, drilling holes in masonry small enough that the plugs don't fall out, small talk, getting decent photo prints from my printer, German grammar.
