10800
Is there a source of railway colours (enamel or acrylic) covering French stock? Or even close equivalent car paint. For now I'm looking for SNCF autorail red and cream.   TIA
jivebunny
AMF and Interfer are the first two that spring to mind, although if you're outside France I'm not sure they ship internationally (or that it'll be worth it if you're in the UK, bearing in mind customs and fees).  Interfer uses an archaic system with order forms you have to print off etc, but their paints are listed on other suppliers' websites. Not sure about AMF's but at least you can order direct with them.  You'll need to run the websites through Google translate if you don't speak French, lots of text to go through !  http://interfer-trains.com/index.php https://www.amf87.fr/prestashop/  Interfer paints available here and possibly others:  https://micro-modele.fr/en/199-peintures-interfer   https://www.train-modelisme.com/mag.php?goto=bout.php&cat=Peintures+INTERFER+SNCF&famille=Pièces+et+entretien   http://www.espacetrain.com/index.php?page=contrib/modelisme/pb1/peinturehttp://www.espacetrain.com/index.php?page=contrib/modelisme/pb1/peinture  Alan    Edited February 18, 2021 by jivebunny
doctor quinn
AMF certainly shipped to U.K. as of last year although you can’t send paint by post. As an aside their cast white metal wagon buffers are very good. Edited February 18, 2021 by doctor quinn
RMweb Premium Andy Hayter Posted February 18, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 18, 2021 Sadly ordering in the UK from a French supplier may lead to significant extra costs - UKÂ VAT + potentially Import duty (paint might not be regarded as a model railway item even though we know these particular paints are) + courier handling charges. Â On the other hand the delivery might just sale through.
10800
Responses from the FRS forum pointed me at Precision (I thought someone did European colours) who have some left in their 'clearance' section but not both the ones I need; more promisingly it was suggested that Halford's Hyundai Electric Red and Ford Ivory might be good substitutes - certainly easier to get hold of.
