Hi everyone.

I am new to this Forum and would appreciate some help.

I have a DCC Layout using Digitrax and CML / Sig-naTrak boards.

The storage yard is divided into 48 blocks wired through 3 BDL168.

The control panel has DTM30 boards used to control points and routes.

The BDL168 show the correct blocks as indicated by the LT5 Tester LEDs and displays the same on LocoAnalyse.

My problem is wiring or programming the DTM30 cells to display the correct blocks.

Can anyone advise on which ribbon cable goes to which pin number to display correctly and on programming the DTM30.

Many thanks

Kevin

hi Kevin,

im familiar with these products and use the bdl168 extensively, my dtm30 is still in its box for future use. Can you be more precise in how things are actually connected together and what you want to achieve. If I am understanding correctly you want to take an output from the dtm to the mimic panel to show occupancy, if this is correct then I would not do it this way, I would just take the outputs from the bdl where the LT5 tester connects on the BDL to the mimic panel.

Where in the very large DTM30 manual are you stuck ?

The manual shows the pinouts of the DTM30.   The LED outputs are in little groups of five wires,  a common wire and four LEDs.  This repeats many times on a given connector (three output connectors).    The groups of four LEDs are "two cells" worth.  ("Cells" crop up a lot in the manual).    The corresponding input cells won't be needed for sensors, though could be used for other button inputs, such as triggering routes or other actions.

I've quickly glanced through the DTM30 manual, and it seems that displaying sensors have to work in pairs, so two LEDs ( Cell) have to work on sequential occupancy sensors.   Other than the restriction on pairs, the Cells can be linked to any sensor on any detection board.

For displaying the output of the occupancy, its then a matter of programming the DTM30 using the CML/Signatrak configuration software.     The software works well, but can take a while to get your head into it (particularly as its only used to set stuff up, then not used again).

I've built up a few DTM30 panels, though the last was a couple of years ago.
