JeffP
Does anyone know the overall size? I'm more interested in the length than all dimensions. Also, has anyone any photos, or does anyone know of a source of photos of the southerly aspect, the one that could be seen from the well known alley? Thanks for any response. JeffP
99 views and no info. And there's no Facebook site like for Crewe. How disappointing.

RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted April 4, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 4, 2021 (edited) Have you seen the six pages on Doncaster works, including a map, in 'An illustrated History of British Railways Workshops' by Edgar Larkin? The map doesn't show a scale, but that could probably be worked out from the NLS maps, which were not connecting when I tried just now. The LNER workshops book is on sale at https://www.worldofbooks.com/en-gb/books/peter-tuffrey/lner-workshops/9780860936732 for £21.39. I have had some good railway book bargains from WofB - especially from their second-hand section, which is, I think, the major part of their operation.
