Gravy Train
Hi folks, have been asked about how I construct my buildings, we I have to say I am allways discovering new ways, ideas etc, we never stop learning. here is how I constructed a Goods shed in 2010. ignore the curved look on some photos, it is camera distortion. Dave Holt
And very nice it is, too. Here are a couple of shots of Peter's goods shed in position on the layout. It's surrounded by the cobbled yard roadway - embossed but not painted in these shots. Might even get round to finishing the layout, eventually. Gravy Train
Hi Dave, the layout looks fantastic, the rise of the approach road is a major feature, no doubt it adds to the station character. Its looking good Dave. Peter A L
regme
Hi Nice build, just an off subjuct question what did you use to join the base boards together? Cheers
Dave Holt
The boards are aligned using pattern makers dowels (circular items outboard of the wing nut headed bolts) and held together by separate bolts into captive nuts. In the view of the end board, the bolts have been temporarily screwed into the nuts. Normally, they would pass through plain holes in the end of the next board. Dave. RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted April 16, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 16, 2021 Although not up to GT's standard, I can chuck a building together half decently, it's the painting and weathering that does for me, that on the goods shed is excellent.
