RMweb Premium newbryford Posted April 7, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 7, 2021 (edited) With the upcoming withdrawal of the 153 fleet, Northern are forming up four more 3-car units to accompany 150001/2 that arrived from Great Western last year. List from Northern-Gen. 150003 is to be formed of 150116 with 57209. 150004 is to be formed of 150112 with 57212. No more 150209. 150005 is to be formed of 150117 with 57224. 150006 is to be formed of 150147 with 52224. No more 150224. What goes around, comes around: 150112/16/17 used to be 3-cars when in use with West Midlands - as 150012/16/17 57224 spent some time as the middle car of 150138. (Not sure about 52224) No more leg crossing required on 150209!! I may have to re-purpose my spare 150/2! Just seen a pic. They will keep the blue upsweep livery on the bodyside at the cab end - as it's painted. The yellow end will also be retained. Primary use of the 150/0s is planned for Rochdale-Clitheroe services - requiring 4 for hourly services. As an aside, there is a possibility that 153's may last a bit longer than planned due to the grounding of the CAF units
