RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted April 11, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 11, 2021 I've got 2 of the Hornby Stanier 2-6-4's, one was new and the other 2nd hand. I've just realised the 2nd hand one is missing the rear bogie spring and washer. The washer's not a problem I can source it from spares. The spring doesn't seem to be listed as a spare part on the Hornby service sheet. Does anyone know the part number? Alternatively does anyone do a box of assorted springs of this ilk as it's something lacking from my spares box horde.
philsandy
I have recently bought one of these, new. It also does not have a spring on the rear bogie, and does not show one on the service sheet either?
RMweb Premium wasdavetheroad Posted April 11, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 11, 2021 I have the earlier Fowler 2-6-4T and that does not have a spring or washer either.
RMweb Premium melmerby Posted April 11, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 11, 2021 I've also got two; R2635 & R2730, both bought new. I'll have a look tomorrow and see what they have.
hap
I have one each of the Hornby Stanier R.2635 and Fowler 4P R.2224 engines and have owned from new. Neither have a spring or washer. They run just fine without them too. I also own the Bachman Fairburn 4P 32-875 - it does have a spring and washer. Hopefully this helps a little
