RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted May 6, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 6, 2021 This nice little lot came into work today and reports the shooting up of two locomotives in France in 1943 by a Spitfire pilot. These reports seldom come onto the market and I was pleased to get them for my next sale. Cheers, Ade.
RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted May 6, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 6, 2021 Interesting - by coincidence, 41 Squadron are now flying Typhoons out of Coningsby where a family member was based until recently. I had to look up the Mark XII which Wikipedia tells me was powered by the Griffon engine and not the Merlin which were only used by two squadrons and so I guess makes the report even more rare ? .
