The Last Days of Steam is a documentary in the BBC Timeshift series, made in 2008.  It was shown again on BBC4 at 8pm 23 June and is available on I-player.  Starts and ends with  the building of Tornado and it's first steaming.  Lots of 50s/60s shots,  the story of BR modernisation, and the start of the preservation movement, especially Didcot.  Includes Dr Beeching, Ian Allen,  David Shepard,  Dai Woodham and the 3 guys who bought 1466 among others.
