RMweb Premium Crepello Posted June 28, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 28, 2021 Can anyone recommend a source? I'm looking to service my Farish Class 20 and need to remove the body. The screws are difficult to remove and replace and I dread being unable to fix the body back on. Thanks in anticipation.
steve1
You probably don't need magnetic ones. You could always magnetise your own though if you think you do. Either way, try this outfit https://www.proopsbrothers.com/ No connection other than very satisfied customer. steve 1
RMweb Gold Right Away Posted June 28, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 28, 2021 Lightly dab your screwdriver tip into a pot of “Tacky Wax” (as used for affixing figures non-permanently) if you have some; doesn’t need much, just a light coating. 1

5050
Rub steel tools against a strongish magnet and they'll be perfectly adequately magnetised for what we do. I find that magnetised tools can be a nuisance too! The Tacky Wax tip is good. I've used it when trying to fit screws into Mashima etc. motors to attach them to gearboxes. 1 1 1

You should rub one pole of the magnet in one direction along the steel tool. Lift the magnet clear at the end and repeat. Don’t turn the magnet or rub back again, you undo the magnetism your first pass achieved. 1 2
