RMweb Premium ELTEL Posted July 4, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 4, 2021 I think need to remove the roof of a Maunsel Push Pull set coach to fit passengers and refit a door window that has fallen out. Not sure how to gain access to the coach Terry

RMweb Gold Mick Bonwick Posted July 4, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 4, 2021 Or you could hire a chainsaw. Aren't I helpful? I'm hoping somebody sensible will provide your answer, Terry, because I'll be needing to do that one day.
RMweb Premium ELTEL Posted July 4, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted July 4, 2021 Hi Mick The annoying thing is I’m pretty sure I put the original figures in the coach about three years ago I’m dammed if I can remember how I did it. Let us both hope someone comes up with the answer. Terry
RMweb Premium melmerby Posted July 4, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 4, 2021 Maybe the bottom of the sides clip over small lugs on the underframe? In which case a blade slipped into the gap to gently prise them off.

In which case a blade slipped into the gap to gently prise them off. On other Hornby maunsells, lugs almost at the ends push into the underfame. ISTR there is some sort of lug on the underframe (in the centre of the side) and for that you need to use something to prise the side away after doing the ends. But specifically to remove the roof ? A razor saw! No idea how you would repair the ends afterwards if you tried that. [ I think you have misled yourself by thinking the roof detaches. ]
RMweb Gold Tim Hall Posted July 5, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 5, 2021 I did mine last year. I think it's thin card/ credit card job between the sole bars and the bottom of the sides, quite fiddly, but doable. The roof does not come off separately, I'm sure. RMweb Premium ELTEL Posted July 5, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted July 5, 2021 Hi Tim Yes I found that was the way after a good luck at the coach There are as you say clips that hold the base to the body, the four clips are attached to the small end door windows plus a clip in the centre of the sole bar each side A bit flimsy
