Bachmann Class 03 and 04 diesels - a few questions.

Evening all,

 

The Bachmann Class 04 - what chassis is under this model? Is it the old split-frame one, as on the Mainline Class 03, or is it something more modern?

 

The newest version of the 03, the ones with the Next 18 decoder interface - does the chassis block have separate brass bearings for the axles, or do they run directly in the block, as they do on the older version that has the larger motor and 6-pin DCC socket?

i think the 04 still has the bachmannn split chassis, the 03 I have has a 6 pin socket so obviously not the more recent one.
