ianmacc
Hi. I acquired a few model railways bits and this was in there. It’s a hefty item and is made out of skaledale or scenecraft material ie resin. it has three grooves running it’s full length and four pairs of fixings at each corner. just curious! RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted August 1, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 1, 2021 Ah, yes; it’s one of those things, isn’t it… I suspect it is a load for a Trestrol or similar wagon, and represents 4 heavy girders of that shape, painted in red primer fresh from the factory and with the pairs of protection plates for the securing chains or straps at each end, but I’ll be happy to be proved wrong! 1

Components for a pair of gantry cranes, perhaps?
RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted August 1, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 1, 2021 See this thread on RMWeb Agreed it is a group of steel girders set for transport, possibly on Conger bogies. Cheers Darius
ianmacc
Thanks guys but are you sure? They are way oversized for wagonload? See how big they are versus the engine shed they’re on top of!!Unless of course they’re 0 gauge or similar… Edited August 3, 2021 by ianmacc Missing p
RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted August 3, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 3, 2021 Agreed - could be O gauge or just built too big or OO gauge and consequently abandoned. Cheers Darius
RMweb Premium Compound2632 Posted August 3, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 3, 2021 I've seen something like this recently - HS2 bridge girders!
