Four Track Sections North of Northallerton

Any one know when the two for track sections on the ECML were reduced to two?

I believe they were castle hills to Danby Wiske and North of Cowton to eiryhome

Hi Russ,

The Down Passenger Loop at Eryholme was "abolished" 30/7/1972. The Up Passenger Loop at Eryholme had been abolished by February 1973.

 

Haven't yet found a date(s) for Danby Wiske yet, but will keep looking.

The Down loop at Castle Hills was changed to its current form in about 1990 when resignalled  and electrified !
