Wasp strips on 08 class shunters

Does anyone know when he class 08 diesel shunters started to receive  the yellow and black wasp stripe markings on either end of their bodies?

 I ve found photos of new 08, (last batches?) leaving the works with the stripes applied, l m sure l ve seen or heard that the diesel shunter fleet received these markings long before the mainline fleet started to have the SYWP applied, which l believe was also around 1962.

Can any one provide a definitive date?

Yes, many years before anything bigger got yellow panels ....... I think this has been covered in another thread !!?!

Yes l agree, l suspect before 1960 but can not find the info!!

Well that's one way to spend a Friday lol, l ve spent an enjoyable Friday afternoon trying to find evidence of wasp stripes on 08 shunters before 1960, net result is l ve been unable to find a definitive answer! Best l ve found is two sources that both suggest but not state categorically  that the strips were first applied to the 350hp fleet from April 1960.

There are a couple of shots of 350s with partial wasps prior to 1960 in 'Fleet Survey 6' - but the standard full set does, indeed, seem to date from that year ( on all diesel shunter classes ).
