RMweb Premium Kris Posted October 29, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 29, 2021 Apparently some money has been allocated to this in the budget. https://www.devonlive.com/news/devon-news/cullompton-railway-station-reopening-takes-6126865 1
Rivercider
That is good news. After those stations closed for many years there was no suitable local/regional train service that could have called at them. In the 1970s no Plymouth based DMUs got east of Exeter, and Bristol DMUs never got west of Taunton. In recent years (particularly during the Wessex franchise years) there has been an increase in services between Bristol/Cardiff and Paignton/Plymouth/Penzance. Both Cullompton and Wellington would be well served by the Castle Class HSTs now working over the route, cheers 2
