RMweb Premium Compound2632 Posted November 16, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 16, 2021 I'm looking at a postcard view of the joint station at Pontardulais, said to be c. 1919, posted to the L&NWR Society Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=10159507378518363&set=gm.884059265615329. There are a couple of GW wagons on the right, one of which looks to have post-1920 16" lettering. However, I think both wagons are hired mineral wagons with 0-prefix numbers, the nearer one being, I think, 08828. From photos of hired wagons that I've seen, the wagon companies went their own way with their interpretation of the shape and size of the G W lettering, so I'm not convinced this wagon gives me sufficient grounds for saying the photo must be after 1920. So, can anyone give chapter and verse on hired wagon 08828 - or provide an alternative interpretation?
wagonman
Sorry Stephen, that's one of the (many) numbers I don't have.
