EvilNoodle
Hello, Firstly let me apologise if this is covered elsewhere I searched but couldn't find anyone with the exact same issue. I was wondering if anyone could help as I'm struggling to wire the smoke unit to my Loksound L v5 decoder. The smoke unit comes attached to a separate PCB, the wiring diagram in decoder manual doesn't show this and all the advice I've read say to to cut this PCB off and wire the chip directly. I have tried this and it still doesn't work. I have also noticed my small smoke unit part number 54678 is also different to the one pictured.
EvilNoodle
As explained in my previous post my smoke unit {54678} is different or is a revised / updated version but using the same part number... Investigating the wire colours from the smoke unit they are as follows; HTR+ = Red HTR- = Black MOT+ = White MOT- = Green TMP+ = Grey TMP- = Yellow However the manual says to wire them to the decoder like this; TMP = Grey HTR = Red Fan+ = White Fan- = Green V+ = Black +5V = Yellow But that would mean the negative yellow wire and the negative black wire from the smoke unit are then being connected to positive terminals on the decoder? Which makes me believe the correct wiring from the smoke unit to the decoder should be this; HTR+ = V+ HTR- = HTR Mot+ = Fan+ Mot- = Fan- TMP+ = +5V TMP- = TMP Has anyone else got any experience on this and could advise? adc
I don't have any experience with this generator, but I can see that there is a manual available for it from the emu website. https://www.esu.eu/en/downloads/instruction-manuals/accessories/ It has examples of how to wire it to other decoders that may be of help. EvilNoodle
Hi Alan, Thanks for that sadly the manual doesn't show how to wire this to the newer sound chips, it also doesn't show if mine is a newer / revised release. I've emailed ESU but so far no response.
