ianmianmianm
Hi, does anyone have any experience of ordering items from small suppliers in Brazil? In particular there are some lovely lasercut buildings which could be used for Spain, Portuguese and lots of colonial type layouts but they all seem to need a local tax number for the sale. This one is especially nice at about 16 pounds. Does anyone know if any online retailers who will shop abroad? Thanks https://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-722105963-estaco-de-limeira-ho-187-_JM#backend=item_decorator&backend_type=function&client=history-polycard Edited December 31, 2021 by ianmianmianm
TEAMYAKIMA
I have no idea on how to buy this, but how interesting. I remember that 30 years ago there was a Brazilian RTR manufacturer but I never new there was a market for sophisticated models. I do fancy an Argentinian layout.

The RTR Manufacturer is Frateschi and they are still in operation https://www.frateschi.com.br/web/ You can get RTR models of Argentine prototypes in HO, but I've only ever seen them on sale in a model shop in Buenos Aires! Can't remember who the manufacturer was, and it appeared to be mainly passenger coaches & wagons. There semed to be lots of locally produced kits available as well in the same shop.
TEAMYAKIMA
Yes, I remembered the name soon after I posted. 30 years ago Victor's of London imported some Frateschi. I've only visited a BA model shop once and all I can remember was vintage Hornby tinplate in the window.
ellocoloco
There are a few other suppliers out there which may be of interest to some forum members. http://www.mrcustom.com.br/Pages/Models/DE G12/en.html http://www.hobbytec.com.br/index.php And there are a few products in this shop also. http://www.perezferromodelismo.com.br/estoque/ There is someone else that produces decals who I found years ago but can't find again. I have never used any of these suppliers nor have any connection to them. 1
