Kato Hitachi class 800 dcc fitting

Hi all, has anyone tried (successfully) to fit the dcc chips into this unit?

I have a pair of Kato 29-351 EM13s and a 29-352. I followed the instructions on this video..

.. but nothing seems to work.

edit.. this video is better! Maybe I have a faulty chip..
